Music Workshops

Presented by our Upbeat Class consultant, Gayle Lawry

A staff development day? A curriculum day? After school?

Getting Upbeat Class going at your school? Trying to involve the whole staff in a developmental, ongoing music program for every class? Gayle can help you.

For a very reasonable consultancy fee, Gayle will spend a day at your school:

  • meeting with staff to outline where to begin with Upbeat Class
  • demonstrating with your classes some of the springboard activities appropriate to specific grade levels
  • setting out clear program goals and stepping stones to an ongoing, stimulating and meaningful music education program

Who is Gayle Lawry?

As well as being one of Victoria's most well known and respected music teachers, Gayle's many roles have included District Music Consultant, Music Network Co-ordinator and Pilot Program Leader for establishing classroom music programs in groups of schools. Like the Upbeat Class program, Gayle draws on an eclectic range of traditional music education influences such as Kodaly, Orff, Suzuki and Dalcroze. And whether it is conducting a choir, rehearsing an instrumental ensemble, directing a musical or mentoring young music teachers, Gayle's enthusiasm and hands-on experience shines through. Her practical workshops are inspired and inspiring!
